AMS is seeking a passionate and instructional-focused Assistant Principal to support leadership of grades K–4 at our Prince campus. The Assistant Principal plays a critical role in driving student achievement through instructional coaching, teacher development, and data-driven decision-making. This role partners closely with the Principal and campus leadership team to ensure strong instructional systems, high expectations, and a structured, achievement-oriented school culture for our elementary students.
The ideal candidate is a collaborative leader with a strong background in elementary education and teacher leadership, committed to improving outcomes for students in Title I communities and building a strong foundation for lifelong learning.
Key Responsibilities- Support the implementation of rigorous, standards-aligned instruction across K–4 classrooms.
- Ensure strong instructional practices in foundational literacy, mathematics, science, and social studies.
- Conduct regular classroom observations and provide actionable feedback to teachers.
- Promote developmentally appropriate instructional strategies that support student growth and achievement.
- Support intervention and enrichment programs to address diverse student learning needs.
- Provide ongoing coaching, mentorship, and support to K–4 teachers.
- Facilitate professional development aligned with elementary instructional priorities.
- Support teacher evaluation processes and performance management.
- Build teacher capacity through modeling, observation feedback, and collaborative planning.
- Support implementation of effective classroom management and student engagement strategies.
- Analyze student achievement and assessment data to identify trends and instructional priorities.
- Lead or support grade-level data meetings and action planning processes.
- Monitor progress toward literacy and mathematics achievement goals.
- Support the implementation of intervention strategies and progress monitoring systems.
- Maintain a structured, positive, and high-expectations learning environment for elementary students.
- Support systems that reinforce student accountability, attendance, engagement, and character development.
- Partner with teachers, interventionists, and support staff to ensure students receive strong academic and behavioral support.
- Foster a positive school culture that promotes student confidence, belonging, and success.
- Partner with the Principal and leadership team to implement school-wide initiatives.
- Support campus operations including testing coordination, scheduling, compliance, and family engagement activities.
- Collaborate with families to strengthen home-school partnerships and student success.
- Participate in leadership meetings and network-wide professional development.
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Minimum of three (3) years of successful elementary teaching experience, preferably in grades K–4.
- Experience working in Title I or high-need school environments.
- Demonstrated teacher leadership experience (e.g., grade-level lead, instructional coach, mentor teacher, department lead, or similar role).
- Experience supporting instructional coaching, teacher development, or classroom supervision.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to analyze student achievement data and support data-driven instruction.
- Knowledge of elementary literacy and mathematics instructional best practices.
- Commitment to serving students in historically underserved communities.
- Master's degree in Education or Educational Leadership.
- Arizona Principal Certification or ability to obtain.
- Experience supporting instruction in elementary grades (K–4).
- Experience working in charter schools or high-performing school networks.
