Position SummaryPima Community College's Division of Health Professions is accepting applications to expand the pool of qualified Nursing adjunct faculty to teach academic‑level courses for the 2025‑26 academic year and beyond. Candidates may be hired for specific courses or added to a pool for future assignments based on enrollment.
General Duties- Instruct students in nursing content and support academic success.
- Follow established protocols for presence, responsiveness, grading, attendance, and assessment of student learning.
- Use current, effective classroom‑management techniques.
- Monitor and continuously improve instruction to ensure Student Learning Outcomes are met at classroom, discipline/program, and College levels.
- Evaluate student performance.
- Maintain competency and currency in the teaching field(s), teaching strategies, subject delivery modalities, and assessment methods.
- Work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and students and maintain a collegial style in all communication.
- Experience teaching nursing courses.
- Experience teaching online courses and/or alternative instructional formats.
- Experience using a Learning Management System, preferably D2L Brightspace.
- Ability to adapt instruction based on student learning styles and accommodation needs.
- Ability to assess student progress and maintain high instructional standards.
- Knowledge of diversity and inclusion, with the ability to address diverse student populations in instructional practice.
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing with at least three years of recent direct patient‑care experience.
- OR Master's Degree in Nursing with at least two years of recent direct patient‑care experience.
- Current, unencumbered Arizona or compact state RN license.
- Current CPR Healthcare Provider certification (American Heart Association).
- Demonstrated experience instructing students in a higher‑learning environment for a pre‑licensure nursing program (clinical, skills, classroom, or simulation).
- Submit clinical eligibility items, including required immunizations and a health physical.
- Provide university transcripts (unofficial at the time of application; official upon selection).
- Meet all minimum qualifications listed above.
- Resume (up to date, including employment gaps).
- Letter of interest or cover letter (not to exceed two pages) indicating the discipline of interest and how credentials meet the minimum qualifications.
- Unofficial transcripts supporting qualifications (official transcripts required if selected).
