I. General Description
Provide quality classroom instruction guided by Arizona State Standards and District policies. Improve instructional practice through ongoing collaboration with master and mentor teachers.
II. Qualifications
- Valid Arizona teaching certificate
- Meet all Arizona Department of Education certification requirements
- Appropriately certified, with minimum of a provisional SEI, ESL or bilingual endorsement
- Bachelor’s degree (minimum requirement)
- Pass background check and possess a valid IVP Fingerprint clearance card
- Bilingual endorsement (preferred)
- English as a Second Language endorsement (preferred)
III. Duties and Responsibilities
- Participate in Teacher Advancement Program (TAP) – teacher‑instructionally focused accountability system
- Attend applied professional growth groups (clusters)
- Collaborate in TAP team‑teaching/coaching with mentor and master teachers to enhance expertise
- Collaborate on lesson planning and develop expertise across all instructional areas
- Develop expertise through creating and maintaining an Individual Growth Plan (IGP)
- Use formal and informal assessment to monitor student progress toward school achievement goals, including cluster focus
- Use resources to support instructional programs
- Align lessons to district curriculum and state standards
- Demonstrate accurate content knowledge of all subjects taught, including integration across content areas
- Assist in design and implementation of individualized education programs, diagnostic teaching, instructional adaptations, and behavior management techniques
- Conduct instruction with clearly stated objectives and varied information to aid student achievement
- Use effective modeling, guided practices, closure, independent practice, questioning, discussion strategies, and higher‑level thinking skills
- Adjust lessons to meet diverse student needs
- Integrate educational technology in the classroom
- Maintain warm, caring, respectful teacher‑student interactions within developmental and cultural norms
- Maintain organized, well‑managed instructional groups, transitions, volunteer and paraprofessional supervision as appropriate
- Maintain a safe, organized, high‑quality environment that minimizes disruptions
- Maintain accurate records that meet district, state, and federal timelines
- Maintain effective communication lines with students, peers, staff, support personnel, and administration
- Participate in professional growth activities and seek to improve teaching skills
- Establish efficient systems for non‑instructional duties to minimize instructional time loss
- Demonstrate punctuality and dependability in all duties
- Follow district policies, procedures, and directives promptly and appropriately
- Perform other tasks as assigned
Evaluation
Performance will be evaluated per Board Policy GCO – Evaluation of Professional Staff Members.
Reports to: Building Administrator
FLSA Status: Exempt
Compensation Range: Per year, 2026/2027
Designation: Certified Teacher – Salary schedule and District benefits package
Terms of Employment: 1.0 FTE, full‑time;
