This position requires pre‑employment drug testing and is subject to random testing for the duration of employment.
Minimum Qualifications- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Background experience, training, or coursework in cross country running.
- Receptive and expressive manual communication skills if working with hearing‑impaired students.
- CPR/First Aid certificate upon hire.
- ASL skills if working with deaf or hard of hearing students.
- NFHS Coaches Education certification.
- Valid Arizona Dept. of Education certificate in Athletic Coaching (for Head Coaches).
- Defensive Driver Training Program completion for any staff that drive.
- Post‑offer physical examination.
- FBI and State background check completion.
- Current CPR, First Aid, and Crisis Intervention training or certification.
- Plan practices and coach athletes.
- Supervise athletes at all times.
- Report to the Athletic Coordinator regarding accidents, equipment needs, eligibility rosters, transportation and meal requests, and equipment/uniform inventory.
- Develop team rules and enforce them fairly and equitably.
- Provide appropriate leadership and act as a role model.
- Safely lift and transport non‑ambulatory students.
- Other duties as outlined in the coaches' manual.
- May be required to transport the team to away contests if the school's transportation department is unavailable.
- Must use appropriate personal protective equipment as required.
