Paradise Valley Unified School District – Quail Run Elementary School (Location)

Full-time, Arizona, Negotiable salary, FTE: 1.0, Non-Interim, Dates: 7/30/2026 – 5/27/2027

Purpose Statement

The International Baccalaureate Coordinator – Elementary supports instruction by helping implement the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme (PYP), assisting teachers with data‑driven goal setting and student progress monitoring, planning instruction, providing professional development, and serving as a resource. This role reports to the Site Administrator.

Essential Functions
  • Coordinate planning, implementation, and monitoring of program development initiatives aligned to IB Standards and Practices, promoting growth and supporting the school and district vision.
  • Communicate with the IB organization for authorization and evaluation.
  • Collaborate with teachers on lesson planning, instruction implementation, classroom management, data collection and analysis, and transdisciplinary curricular connections to ensure effective use of PYP best practices.
  • Work with instructional staff and other personnel through reflection and planning to improve student outcomes and meet teaching objectives.
  • Model, co‑teach, and co‑plan lessons and units using research‑based strategies to maximize inquiry‑based learning.
  • Prepare and maintain manual and electronic records (Program of Inquiry, unit planners, IB resources, school IB policies) in compliance with administrative, IB, and legal requirements.
  • Observe and coach teachers, providing supportive feedback on strategy implementation.
  • Participate in collaborative meetings and committees for information gathering and sharing.
  • Serve as a resource for instructional strategies supporting the school’s six transdisciplinary themes and inquiry actions.
  • Communicate with parents and the community about PYP implementation, offering support through meetings and information sessions.
  • Connect with other IB schools locally and globally to promote international‑mindedness and collaborative projects.
  • Plan and facilitate professional development in partnership with administration, aligned to the school’s program development plan and district programs.
Other Functions

Performs additional assigned duties necessary for efficient and effective operation of the work unit.

Job Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications Skills, Knowledge And Abilities
  • Apply assessment instruments; operate standard office equipment and relevant software; maintain accurate records; apply curriculum and instructional techniques.
  • Perform algebra and/or geometry; read technical information; compose various documents; facilitate group discussions; analyze situations to define issues and draw conclusions.
  • Understand appropriate codes, policies, regulations, laws, age‑appropriate activities, lesson plan requirements, child development stages, behavioral management strategies, assessment techniques, and instruction methods.
  • Schedule activities, meetings, and events; gather, collate, and classify data; use job‑related equipment; adapt flexibly to working with others; handle data with defined processes; operate equipment under standardized methods; work with diverse individuals and groups; problem‑solve to create action plans; maintain confidentiality; exhibit tact and patience; work flexible hours; meet deadlines; collaborate as a team; adhere to all school and district policies and procedures.
Responsibilities

Operate under limited supervision using standardized practices; direct other persons within a small work unit; utilize resources from other work units.

Work Environment

Physical demands include occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and fine finger dexterity. Typical activity distribution: 10% sitting, 40% walking, 50% standing. Work may involve temperature extremes and exposure to injury or illness.

Experience

Job‑related experience desired.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.

Certifications and Licenses
  • Arizona Teaching Certificate.
  • Appropriately Certified in Core Content Area.
  • SEI Endorsement Required.
Clearances
  • Criminal Background Clearance.
  • Valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.

Exempt.
