Under general supervision of the Community Schools Athletics & Enrichment Coordinator, performs work of moderate difficulty planning and coordinating middle school after-school athletic programs.

Tasks:

• Plan, coordinate and supervise all aspects of a middle school athletic program
• Supervise athletic coaches, assisting with recruitment, hiring, evaluation of coaches throughout the school year
• Attend quarterly meetings with other Northwest League school representatives to discuss league issues and schedule quarterly games
• Distribute/Collect coaches' contracts and game officials' payment slips
• Communicate with coaches, students, teachers and parents regarding attendance, eligibility, discipline (as necessary)
• Communicate with supervisor(s) and support staff, regarding program needs
• Coordinate athletic equipment and supplies including maintenance and storage

Knowledges, Skills and Other Characteristics:

• Knowledge of CFSD middle school level athletics and athletic philosophy
• Knowledge of middle school level educational program design
• Knowledge of CFSD policies and procedures regarding student program eligibility and registration
• Knowledge of recruiting and retaining coaches
• Skill in implementing and coordinating middle school level athletic programs
• Skill in communicating effectively, orally and in writing
• Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with staff, administrators, students, parents and the general public

Minimum Required Qualifications:

• Experience coaching, developing, implementing and administering athletic and/or k-12 enrichment programming, preferred

Special Requirements:

• Must possess or have the ability to obtain a Level I - IVPP Fingerprint Clearance card through Arizona Department of Public Safety
• CPR certificate and First Aid certificate are required within one (1) year of hire
