About This Role
The Assistant Teacher plays a key role in creating a nurturing and secure environment for children, working collaboratively with Teachers and the Director to deliver high-quality education. Successful candidates will possess excellent interpersonal skills, enabling them to communicate effectively with colleagues and build strong relationships with children and their parents. By observing and documenting children's progress, the Assistant Teacher contributes to the development of a tailored educational program that caters to individual interests and needs.
WhatYou'll Do
- Support the delivery of engaging curricula activities and foster a sense of community among children by encouraging participation and social interaction.
- Take an active role in managing classroom materials, ensuring cleanliness, organization, and accessibility for all children.
- Maintain open lines of communication with parents through regular updates and progress reports, building trust and fostering a sense of partnership.
- Model positive behaviors and promote self‑reliance and good hygiene practices among children.
- Ensure a seamless transition from home to the child care center, providing a stable and supportive environment for all children.
- Comply with all center policies and state regulations, upholding the highest standards of care and education.
- Develop a personal professional development plan, driving continuous improvement and excellence in teaching practices.
- Must pass health screening.
- Must clear full background check.
- Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification.
- A strong understanding of child development.
- Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- High energy.
- Ability to work well with others.
- Previous experience working with a diverse age group, particularly in a multiage setting involving 3, 4, and 5‑year‑old children.
