Teacher Mentor (Effective  SCHOOL YEAR)

The Teacher Mentor position supports new teachers, helps new district teachers, and assists other teachers as assigned to develop professional knowledge and instructional skills to enhance student learning and achievement. The mentor acts as a facilitator, coach, resource, and advocate, and provides appropriate professional development opportunities.

• Valid Arizona teaching certificate
• Arizona IVP fingerprint clearance card
• Five years teaching experience
• Proven outstanding classroom teaching performance, evidenced by evaluation results
• Two (2) years experience working with adult learners
• Experience analyzing and interpreting student achievement data and applying it to instruction
• Experience working with district adoptions and initiatives
• Experience providing job‑embedded professional development such as coaching teachers
• Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends

• Master’s Degree in Education
• Two (2) years experience within Tucson Unified School District

• Proof of immunity to rubeola (measles) and rubella (German measles), or proof of MMR immunization
• Current Arizona Driver’s license with no more than the allowable points as set by district policy

• Full‑time: 1.0 to 7.5 hours per day, 10.5‑month work calendar
• Salary: $47,505.30 to $55,621.30 per year
• Probationary contracts for contingent certifications, positions 0.6 FTE or less, or employees within first three years
