Position Summary

Hours Per Week:
Up to 19.5 hours per week. Department:
Monarch Student Resources and Office of the College and Community Connection. Rate of Pay: $15.95 an hour.

Monarch Student Resources and Office of the College and Community Connection (C3) seeks motivated, student-centered, and community-minded Pima Community College (PCC) students to serve as Student Ambassadors. Student Ambassadors are leaders, advocates, and representatives of the college who help create a welcoming, inclusive, and supportive environment for all students, with a focus on supporting immigrant, refugee, asylee, DACA, undocumented, first-generation, and other historically marginalized or underrepresented communities.

Student Ambassadors serve as peer leaders who help prospective, new, and current students navigate college systems, connect with campus resources, participate in student life, and build a sense of belonging ough outreach, presentations, resource navigation, and student engagement activities, Student Ambassadors play an important role in helping students successfully begin and continue their educational journey. No prior experience is required.

Students with a passion for helping others, learning new skills, and making a positive impact on campus are encouraged to apply. Comprehensive training and ongoing support will be provided.

The work schedule for this position may include working evenings and weekends and local travel.

About Temporary Employment

This position has 3 vacant positions and will establish a qualified applicant pool for part-time temporary positions. Applications will remain active for 6 months to a year and selected candidates may be contacted as positions become available or when immediate staffing needs arise. Placement in the pool does not guarantee employment. The applicant pool will be refreshed annually. Temporary applicants may be hired for specific assignments or placed in an applicant pool for future opportunities, depending on enrollment levels and business needs.

If selected from this pool of applicants, candidates contacted will receive details regarding the specific assignment and will have the opportunity to confirm interest and availability. We are seeking dedicated part-time temporary employees to join our qualified applicant pool. Selected candidates will be considered for placement as positions become available or when immediate staffing needs arise. Part-time temporary roles offer flexible scheduling and the opportunity to support a diverse population of students in achieving their educational goals.

Duties & Responsibilities

Student Outreach and Engagement
  • Serve as a positive representative and student leader for Pima Community College
  • Welcome and assist prospective, new, and current students
  • Participate in recruitment, outreach, orientation, resource fairs, campus events, and community engagement activities
  • Conduct presentations and outreach activities to increase awareness of college resources, programs, services, and opportunities
  • Encourage student participation in campus programs, leadership opportunities, and events
Enrollment and Student Navigation Support
  • Assist prospective and new students with the college application process and understanding their next steps
