Position Overview Academies of Math and Science (AMS) is a network of high-performing K–8 public charter schools committed to academic excellence, college readiness, and equitable access to high-quality education for students in historically underserved communities.

AMS is seeking a passionate and culturally responsive
** English Language Development (ELD) Teacher
** to provide high-quality language instruction and support for multilingual learners. The ideal candidate will foster English language acquisition while ensuring students have equitable access to rigorous grade-level content through evidence-based instructional strategies.

Key Responsibilities Instruction & Student Achievement
* Deliver standards-aligned English Language Development instruction to multilingual learners.
* Develop and implement lesson plans that support English language acquisition across the domains of listening, speaking, reading, and writing.
* Differentiate instruction based on students' English language proficiency levels and individual learning needs.
* Utilize formative and summative assessment data, including language proficiency data, to guide instructional planning and interventions.
* Collaborate with classroom teachers to support language development across all content areas.

Classroom Culture & Student Support
* Establish and maintain a structured, positive, and high-expectations classroom environment.
* Implement PBIS and preventative intervention strategies.
* Support students' academic, behavioral, and social-emotional growth while fostering confidence in language development.
* Create an inclusive learning environment that values students' cultural and linguistic backgrounds.

Collaboration & Professional Growth
* Participate in weekly professional development and professional learning communities.
* Collaborate with grade-level teams, instructional leaders, and special programs staff to support multilingual learners.
* Contribute to school-wide initiatives that promote equitable outcomes for English learners.

Family Engagement
* Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and language development.
* Partner with families to support English language acquisition and academic success.
* Participate in parent-teacher conferences and school engagement activities.###

Minimum Qualifications Candidates must meet
** one
* * of the following requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Education, English, TESOL, Linguistics, or a related field    
** OR
* ** Valid Arizona teaching certificate with an ESL/SEI endorsement or other appropriate certification

Additionally, candidates must:
* Demonstrate strong classroom management skills.
* Pass required background checks and obtain an IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
* Demonstrate commitment to serving Title I and multilingual communities.
* Exhibit knowledge of second-language acquisition strategies and best practices for English learners.
* Show strong analytical skills and enthusiasm for data-driven instruction.
* Exhibit collaboration, professionalism, and initiative in a team-based environment.### Compensation & BenefitsAMS offers a competitive compensation and benefits package designed to support professional growth and long-term career success.
