Associate Pastor of Care and Community Formation

Summery of Position

The Associate Pastor of Care and Community Formation will encourage and provide strong relationships with all people of El Camino Church. He will continue to develop a visitation team that will help meet the relational needs of “shut-ins”, those who are in the hospital, rehab, or hospice centers. He will also develop gifted leaders for small group ministry at El Camino Church.

• Visit church members in hospitals, rehabilitation centers, hospice care, and private homes to provide prayer and support.
• Recruit, train, and oversee a volunteer visitation team to extend pastoral care.
• Coordinate ministry to shut-ins, including in-home visits for homebound members providing spiritual care.
• Ensure the Senior Pastor is informed of significant care needs.

• Identify and disciple leaders to lead new and existing small groups.
• Provide training and ongoing support for group leaders.
• Help groups embody a culture of prayer, spiritual growth, accountability, and mutual care.

• Provide pastoral leadership to senior pastor and staff upon request.
• Preach as invited by the Senior Pastor.
• Provide biblical counseling as needed or assigned.
• Participate on Stratigic Leadership Team (SLT), general staff meeting , and any other meeting deemed essential by senior pastor.

• High view of scripture with a firm grasp of God’s word (Masters Degree in Theology and/or Biblical studies highly preferred)
• At least 5 years of experience in the areas described above. This is not a come and learn position. We are looking for someone who is highly relational and has a true heart for people in their time of need.
• Some knowledge or willingness to be trained on Planning Center Online.
