Position HighlightsThe Sonoran Center for Excellence in Disabilities at the University of Arizona seeks a Training and Technical Assistance Coordinator to lead statewide implementation support for Employment First initiatives, including Supported Employment and Customized Employment service implementation. This position is responsible for designing, coordinating, and implementing training and technical assistance systems that support Vocational Rehabilitation staff, Community Rehabilitation Providers, supervisors, state partners, and community stakeholders in applying evidence-informed employment practices.
Working with considerable independence, the Training and Technical Assistance Coordinator will supervise regional implementation staff, guide technical assistance strategy, monitor implementation progress, support data-informed decision-making, and develop tools, resources, and processes that strengthen service quality across Arizona. This role requires significant collaboration with state agencies, provider organizations, Tribal partners, and internal Sonoran Center teams to support systems change, statewide service implementation, and improved employment outcomes for people with disabilities.

Duties & Responsibilities Statewide Implementation Leadership and Team Supervision:- Lead and coordinate statewide implementation of training and technical assistance activities for Employment First, Supported Employment, Customized Employment, and related employment initiatives.
- Identify statewide implementation needs, resolve barriers, and determine appropriate technical assistance strategies.
- Coordinate with project leadership to align staffing, resources, timelines, and deliverables with statewide implementation goals.
- Support project staff in building and maintaining relationships with Vocational Rehabilitation, Community Rehabilitation Providers, Tribal partners, families, job seekers, and other stakeholders.
- Supervise project staff, provide coaching, work direction, establish priorities, coordinate staff assignments, and monitor performance to ensure the team is applying consistent, high-quality practices across regions.
- Develop, implement, and refine statewide training and technical assistance strategies for providers and Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) staff on Supported Employment, Customized Employment, Employment First, Competitive Integrated Employment, service selection, documentation, and implementation expectations.
- Lead or co-lead training sessions, workshops, webinars, communities of practice, cohort-based learning activities, and supervisor development sessions.
- Provide advanced technical assistance to providers, VR staff, supervisors, and partners on implementation challenges, service quality, employment practices, and systems coordination.
- Translate complex service requirements and disability employment practices into training and technical assistance resources for varied audiences.
- Identify trends in technical assistance needs and develop responsive strategies, tools, and training content to strengthen statewide implementation.
- Coordinate complex project activities across multiple partners, timelines, deliverables, and implementation phases.
- Serve as key liaison with Vocational Rehabilitation staff, Community Rehabilitation Providers, Managed Service Provider partners, Tribal Vocational Rehabilitation programs, state agencies, and community organizations to support system alignment.
- Develop and maintain implementation processes that support clear communication, expectations, and timely completion of project activities.
- Facilitate collaborative problem-solving with partners to address implementation barriers and support adoption of new employment service models.
