Program Coordinator, Senior
- Curricular Affairs

The Office of Curricular Affairs develops and administers many of the educational programs and services at the University of Arizona, College of Medicine-Tucson, including our medical student curriculum from years 1 through 4, and is committed to strengthening and advancing the faculty and the curriculum via development programs. Reporting to the Associate Dean of Curricular Affairs & Accreditation, the Program Coordinator, Senior will provide coordination and support to Block Directors, facilitators, and medical students during the preclinical curriculum blocks and/or courses.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Course Director(s) to plan, design, and coordinate block/course sessions.
  • Verify accuracy of updated Learning Outcomes (LOs) for sessions within the learning management system and in the block/course syllabus.
  • Create, plan, and maintain a working calendar of blocks' weekly sessions.
  • Assign facilitators and students to groups and create sessions and offerings within learning management system.
  • Maintain absence requests within learning management system.
  • Schedule, coordinate, and proctor quizzes and exams.
  • Maintain academic records (grades) within learning management system and UAccess Instructor Center.
  • Design, development, and distribution of educational materials:
    • Collaborate with Faculty in the creation/modification/maintenance of block material.
    • Collaborate with Block Directors and Thread Directors for integration of thread material.
    • Administer and collect educational materials for Team Learning sessions.
  • Communications and Information Coordination:
    • Serve as a liaison between Course Director(s) and Curricular Affairs (especially regarding internal policies/procedures).
    • Reserve classrooms for preclerkship sessions through room scheduling system.
    • Help provide documentation for the LCME accreditation standards relating to the blocks within the curriculum, as needed.
    • Coordinate with Bio Medical Communications to ensure proper recording of block sessions.
  • Meetings and additional support:
    • Attend monthly Curricular Affairs Staff meetings.
    • Attend bi-monthly TCMS meetings.
    • Provide support for other programs in the Curricular Affairs Office, as deemed necessary.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of learning management systems.
  • Ability to work autonomously and prioritize multiple projects.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Background or experience in higher education.
  • Familiarity with the College of Medicine medical student curriculum.
  • Knowledge of College of Medicine policies and procedures.
