GeneralJob Description
Responsible for Instructing students using the classical model of learning combined with data driven decision-making. Will create daily lesson plans, participate in ongoing professional training sessions, meet with the Director of Instruction for instructional planning based on assessment data, and work with grade level teams of teachers to collaboratively plan and also form common unit assessments.

Reports to:
Teachers shall be directly responsible to the Preschool Director and will work directly with the Preschool Director, Assistant Preschool Director, and site principal.
Works with: Head of Schools, Principal, Assistant Principal, Business Manager, Director of Instruction, Faculty, Office Support Staff, Health Services Coordinator, Registrar, Office Manager, Families and Scholars of Leman Academy.
Qualifications/
Minimum Requirements:
Qualified applicants should posses a degree in Early Childhood or related field, or currently pursuing an ECE or CDA degree.
- At least 2 years experience working a licensed early childhood facility.
- At least 21 years of age.
- Valid CPR/First Aide certification.
- Valid Level 1 IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card / Background and Criminal History Clearance.
- Valid Food handlers card.
- Current TB test (completed within the last 6 months)
- Any equivalent combination of training, education and experience that meets minimum requirements.
- Plan and carry out the provided curriculum that targets different areas of child development, such as language, motor, and social skills.
- Prepare children for kindergarten by introducing concepts that they will explore further in their long term social and academic future.
- Provide age appropriate weekly and monthly lesson plans.
- Develop activities that introduce math and literacy concepts.
- Provide various experiences and activities for children including songs, games, and story telling.
- Work with children in groups or one on one, depending on the needs of children and the subject matter.
- Organize activities so children can learn about the world, explore interests, and develop talents.
- Develop schedules and routines to ensure children have enough physical activity, rest, and playtime.
- Keep records of the students’ progress, routines, and interests, and keep parents informed about their child’s development.
- Provide a safe and secure environment for children to feel comfortable.
- Implement appropriate discipline when required.
- Ensure equipment and classrooms are clean, well maintained and safe at all times.
- Develop activities to stimulate the children.
- Maintain student records on developmental and academic growth.
- Be responsible for holding parent teachers conferences.
- Establish policies and procedures for inside and outside the classroom.
- Become familiar with emergency procedures and protocol.
