Sweet P's Hybrid Microschool is seeking an Elementary Teacher to join our growing program. This is a unique mentorship opportunity for someone who is ready to transition into elementary education and grow into an exceptional classroom teacher.

Our microschool serves students from Pre-K through 1st grade in a small multi-age classroom of approximately 11–13 students, depending on the experience and qualifications of the teacher. Small class sizes allow teachers to truly know each child, individualize instruction, and spend their time teaching rather than managing large classrooms.

This is a growth position. We are intentionally looking for someone with strong potential and a genuine passion for education. The ideal candidate may be:

• Working toward a teaching degree.
• A recent college graduate preparing for a career in teaching.
• Someone with a bachelor's degree who has not yet earned a teaching certificate.
• An experienced preschool or childcare teacher who is ready to take the next step into elementary education.

The strongest candidates will have experience working in a licensed childcare center or preschool and a desire to grow into elementary education. This background provides an excellent foundation for success in our microschool, where nurturing relationships and strong instructional practices are equally important.

You will be mentored by an educator with more than 33 years of experience in elementary and early childhood education. Our goal is to invest in the right person by providing coaching, support, and professional development as you build the knowledge, confidence, and instructional skills to become an outstanding elementary teacher.

What You'll Do

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons for students from Pre-K through 1st grade.
• Differentiate instruction to meet each student's academic level and learning style.
• Foster a positive, respectful, and nurturing classroom culture.
• Support students in developing strong foundational skills in reading, writing, mathematics, science, social studies, and character development.
• Assess student progress and maintain appropriate records.
• Communicate professionally with families regarding student progress and classroom activities.
• Supervise students during classroom instruction, outdoor play, meals, and transitions.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe learning environment.
• Work collaboratively with the Director to continually improve instruction and the microschool program.
• Follow all Arizona licensing, health, and safety requirements.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to work effectively with young children.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Professional, dependable, and punctual.
• Willingness to learn, accept coaching, and grow professionally.
• Ability to plan and implement engaging learning activities.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
• Ability to pass all required background checks.
• Ability to meet Arizona requirements for employment in a licensed childcare setting.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and actively participate in classroom and outdoor activities.

Nice To Haves

• Experience working in a licensed childcare center or preschool.
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field.
• Currently pursuing a teaching degree.
• Experience teaching or assisting in an elementary classroom.
• Knowledge of child development and differentiated instruction.
• CPR and First Aid Certification.
• Arizona teaching certificate (not required).
