Job Description:
The Tucson Manager, Academic Advising (Academic Success and Recruitment) plays a key leadership role in advancing the mission and impact of the Tucson campus and broader Southern Arizona region. This position integrates student advising, recruitment strategy, and program development while providing critical support to the Tucson Campus Director in leading initiatives that foster student growth, engagement, and community presence.
This position is based on the Tucson campus and is fully in person. The anticipated start date is immediate.
Position Salary Range:$55,000 - $65,000 per year; DOE

Position Salary Range:$55,000 - $65,000 per year; DOE Essential Duties:
1. Student Advising & Support Provide holistic advising to students, support academic, personal, and professional development.
Facilitate one-on-one and group advising sessions
Monitor student progress and proactively address barriers to success.
Coordinate closely with Phoenix-based advising teams to ensure alignment, consistency, and continuity in advising practices, systems, and student experience across campuses.
Collaborate with faculty and staff to ensure coordinated student support.
2. Recruitment & Outreach Develop and execute recruitment strategies to grow student enrollment in Tucson and Southern Arizona.
Build and maintain relationships with local colleges, universities, and community partners.
Represent the organization at recruitment events, fairs, and informational sessions.
Collaborate with Phoenix-based recruitment teams to align messaging, strategies, and systems, ensuring a unified approach to outreach and prospective student engagement.
Track and assess recruitment efforts to improve effectiveness.
3. Program Development & Implementation Assist in designing and implementing campus programs, events, and initiatives.
Support contextualized programming that reflects the needs of the Tucson and Southern Arizona communities.
Participate in the continual evaluation of program effectiveness and recommend improvements.
4. Community Engagement Cultivate partnerships with local organizations, churches, nonprofits, and stakeholders.
Represent the campus in community settings and collaborative initiatives
Strengthen the campus presence and impact within Southern Arizona.
Desired
Qualifications:
Evidence of a master’s degree in Student Affairs, Education, Counseling, Social Work or closely related field.
At least one (1) year previous experience in advising, teaching in the college/university environment, recruitment, or student services.
Demonstrated knowledge of principles, practices, procedures and methods of evidence-based academic advising strategies.
Demonstrated knowledge of ASU academic structure and organization.
Demonstrated knowledge of academic programs, colleges, and departments university-wide.
Demonstrated knowledge student service orientation.
Demonstrated knowledge of leadership behaviors and abilities.
Experience in rapidly adapting and effectively utilizing new technology, practices, policies and methods.
Experience in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with peers, faculty, students, administration, and other interested parties.
Experience working effectively in an environment subject to quickly changing priorities.
Evidence of effective written and verbal communication.
