Position: University Admissions Counselor – Traditional Ground Campus –Tucson, AZ - Grand Canyon University

Responsibilities

As a University Admissions Counselor you will:

  • Serve students, families, and community members with a servant’s heart.
  • Host and implement event/activity plans to build awareness of academic programs and campus community, driving inquiry generation.
  • Provide exceptional counseling to prospective students and families via in‑person, phone, email, text, or Zoom.
  • Promote Grand Canyon University’s mission, student success, and institutional growth.
  • Connect with community college students, faculty, staff, and other stakeholders in your territory.
  • Maintain a full schedule that includes fairs, school visits, presentations, community and campus events, and campus visits.
  • Use critical‑thinking skills to support prospective students and families through the admissions process, guiding them to a successful campus experience.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • No delinquent or default on a federal student loan, as verified in your credit report.
  • Outstanding time management and organization skills, including the ability to prioritize competing priorities while traveling.
  • Clear communication and engaging presentation skills for in‑person, written, and phone interactions.
  • Strong listening skills and the ability to engage and influence an audience.
  • Self‑motivation and drive to succeed, with a willingness to take ownership of time spent with students.
  • High emotional intelligence, including empathy to coach a diverse range of students and families.
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, a flexible schedule, and a clean driving record. Willingness to travel (1‑3 times per month) and attend events, including evenings and weekends.
  • Computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Bonus: experience with CRM tools.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Attended Grand Canyon University on campus and/or is an alumni.
  • Relevant industry‑related professional experience.
  • Experience working with CRM tools.
