Summary
A Teacher in the Tucson Unified School District advances student achievement through effective management of the learning environment, including preparing lesson plans, evaluating, and monitoring student performance and progress. Teachers provide effective and equitable instruction to students in various planned courses, demonstrate a solid commitment to continuous learning, and appreciate diversity. They collaboratively develop instructional strategies that encourage students to analyze and interpret class material, keep a safe, respectful classroom, and cultivate students’ curiosity and love of learning.
Minimum Requirements Grades Kindergarten – 3rd- Arizona Early Childhood Special Education, Mild/Moderate Disabilities, Cross‑Categorical, Special Education , Special Education LD, or Special Education ED Certificate OR
- Arizona Moderate/Severe Disabilities AND an Early Childhood Education endorsement OR
- Arizona Standard Professional Teaching Certificate AND a Provisional or Full Mild/Moderate Disabilities PreK‑12 endorsement
- Arizona Mild/Moderate Disabilities, Cross‑Categorical Special Education, Special Education , Special Education LD or Special Education ED Certificate OR
- Arizona Standard Professional Teaching Certificate with a Provisional or Full Mild/Moderate Disabilities PreK‑12 endorsement
- Current Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
- Proof of immunity to rubeola (measles) and rubella (German measles), or proof of MMR immunization.
- Demonstrated success in engaging African American and Latino students
- Bilingual (Spanish) endorsement
- Effective: 2026‑2027 SCHOOL YEAR
