**** Position Summary
** Academies of Math and Science (AMS) is a network of high-performing K–8 public charter schools committed to academic excellence, college readiness, and equitable access to high-quality education for students in historically underserved communities.

AMS is seeking a passionate, data-driven
** 8th Grade English Language Arts Teacher
** to deliver rigorous, standards-aligned instruction while building strong literacy, analytical thinking, communication, and writing skills. The ideal candidate is committed to fostering a love of reading and writing while preparing scholars for high school through engaging, evidence-based instruction.

Key Responsibilities ## Instruction & Student Achievement
* Deliver rigorous, standards-aligned English Language Arts instruction aligned to AMS curriculum frameworks.
* Teach reading comprehension, literary analysis, informational text, argumentative and narrative writing, grammar, vocabulary, and speaking and listening skills.
* Differentiate instruction to support students performing above and below grade level.
* Use formative and summative assessment data to drive instructional planning and targeted interventions.
* Prepare students for high school-level literacy expectations through rigorous instruction and critical thinking.## Classroom Culture & Student Support
* Establish and maintain a structured, positive, and high-expectations classroom environment.
* Implement PBIS and preventative intervention strategies.
* Support students' academic, behavioral, and social-emotional development.
* Create an inclusive classroom that encourages student voice, collaboration, and respectful discussion.## Collaboration & Professional Growth
* Participate in weekly professional development and professional learning communities.
* Collaborate with grade-level teams and instructional leaders to continuously improve teaching practices.
* Contribute to school-wide systems and continuous improvement initiatives.## Family Engagement
* Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress.
* Lead parent-teacher conferences and maintain strong home-school partnerships.#

Minimum Qualifications Candidates must meet
** one
* * of the following requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Education, English, Secondary Education, Elementary Education, or a relevant content area)
** OR
* ** Valid Arizona teaching certification in a relevant subject area
** OR
* ** Minimum of three (3) years of K–12 teaching experience

Additionally, candidates must:
* Demonstrate strong classroom management skills.
* Pass required background checks and obtain an IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
* Show commitment to serving Title I and multilingual communities.
* Demonstrate strong analytical skills and a data-driven instructional mindset.
