Student Success Coordinator

Location:

Tucson, AZ (Tucson Campus) | On-Site

Type:
Full-Time | Salaried Exempt

Schedule:

Monday – Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Occasional evening coverage as needed)

Position Summary

In this pivotal role, you will be the key to helping students break through personal and academic barriers. You won't just manage academic progress; you will be a trusted advisor, a compassionate problem-solver, and a vital link to essential community resources. You will empower students by connecting them with support for everything from tutoring to housing, childcare, and financial aid, ensuring that life's challenges don't stand in the way of their education.

Key Responsibilities

Student Progress & Academic Monitoring:

  • Progress Analysis:
    Analyze academic and attendance reports to ensure students maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP).
  • Academic Advising:
    Advise students regarding academic performance, attendance concerns, and programmatic requirements.

Student Support & Personal Advocacy:

  • Resource Connection:
    Connect students with internal and external support services, including tutoring, childcare agencies, housing assistance, and financial resources.
  • Personal Support:
    Assist students in navigating personal challenges that impact their educational persistence and success.
  • Digital Support:
    Guide students through navigating campus electronic resources, student portals, and learning tools.

Administrative, Compliance & Discipline Management:

  • Status Processing:
    Process Change of Status forms for reschedules, SAP warnings, attendance/conduct alerts, Leaves of Absence (LOAs), withdrawals, and terminations.
  • Compliance & Policy:
    Ensure strict compliance with applicable Federal, State, and accreditation regulations, serving as a campus resource for institutional policies.
  • Conflict Resolution:
    Resolve student conflicts, address conduct issues, and enforce disciplinary procedures when necessary.

Collaboration, Engagement & Onboarding:

  • Cross-Departmental Alignment:
    Collaborate with Admissions, Financial Aid, Career Services, and Faculty to address student needs holistically.
  • Orientation & Events:
    Lead and coordinate New Student Orientation programs; assist the Campus Director in planning student appreciation, graduations, and monthly recognition events.
Minimum Requirements
  • Education:

    Bachelor's degree preferred (or equivalent combination of training, education, and experience).
  • Experience:

    Three (3) years of experience advising students in a post-secondary education environment.
  • Leadership

    Skills:

    Previous supervisory or management experience preferred.
  • Technical & Mathematical Aptitude:
    Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), student databases, basic mathematics, and digital communication platforms.
  • Soft Skills:

    Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; strong interpersonal, conflict resolution, and active listening abilities.
