**** Program Summary
** The K Metrology team supports manufacturing, engineering & test, repair & overhaul, and aftermarket service centers globally in support of Aerospace & Defense, Automotive, Medical, Safety, Semiconductor and other industries. Our support includes services such as complete management of embedded metrology systems, calibration and repair, test & inspection, metrology engineering, preventive maintenance, NADCAP special process support, and AMS
2750 Heat Treat pyrometry services and more. Our teams are located across the globe working in K and customer embedded laboratories as well as performing onsite visits with our field service operations and mobile laboratory platforms. Our teams work to ensure our customer systems are maintained to high standards through calibration, preventative maintenance, automation and programming, calibration recall system management, and audit support.
We ensure great customer experience by tracking and providing performance and delivery metrics through digital dashboards, as well as routine customer service surveys and direct customer meetings.
** Job Summary
** Metrology Technician II is responsible for performing routine calibrations, tests and/or inspections in-lab or on-site using accredited standards, taking care of the day-to-day escalations and priority requests, maintaining traceability and calibration of laboratory standards.
Calibrations, tests and inspections may be performed with and/or without automation. The position requires knowledge and fluency in basic and advanced calibration, test, and/or inspection procedures and processes, and hands-on experience with setting up advanced test equipment calibration systems. This position also requires the ability to review, validate, create, and/or modify calibration, test, and/or inspection procedures. This role will report to the principal technician and/or lab manager.
** Roles and Responsibilities
*** Responsible for the calibration and certifying of electronic and physical/dimensional measuring and test equipment to technical specifications, maintaining traceability to the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).
* Performs calibration/repairs on equipment.
* Calibrates standards used in calibrations.
* Installs new equipment; performs modifications on equipment to make it compatible with existing equipment or to enhance its functions.
* Makes reports on electronic or instrumentation system conditions, repairs and preventive maintenance performed; prepares and maintains repair and maintenance records as required by federal and department regulations and directives.
* Develops automated procedures using basic/complex programming skills.
* Uses all hand tools and sets up and uses standard machine tools. Uses common laboratory measuring, calibrating, and test equipment.
* Performs troubleshooting in conjunction with design modification functions involved in production or engineering liaison.
* Provides guidance regarding equipment operation to customers and equipment operators.
* Proficient at understanding and writing reports and work instructions and assists customers to define technical requirements to meet their objective.
* Performs work safely, in-compliant to HS&E requirements, and takes actions to ensure a safe working environment.
* Maintains records of test data and assists in writing test procedures and test evaluation reports.
* Applies advanced skills in area of specialization.
** Basic Qualifications
*** High school diploma with 2+ years experience in the field, OR Associates degree in engineering technology or other relevant field and 2 years experience. Formal military PMEL, TMDE or calibration school training with proof of attendance.
* Previous customer service experience is a plus
* U.S. Citizenship Status required due to client requirement.
** Preferred Qualifications
*** Indy Soft, Fluke Met/Team, Fluke Met/Track and Met/Cal experience a plus+.
* Proficient using Microsoft technology, including Excel
* PMEL, TMDE or calibration school a plus+
* Specific contract requirements regarding education and experience will prevail.
