The Processing, Guidance and Controls (PG&C) Center within the Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities (SE&TC) Discipline consists of Guidance, Navigation and Control;
Signal Processing; and Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis disciplines for Effectors.
The Signal Processing team is seeking Sr. Principal Systems Engineer - RF Signal Processing engineers to join our Processing, Guidance and Controls (PG&C) Center in Tucson, AZ.
As the Sr. Principal Systems Engineer - Signal Processing
, you will collaborate in the design, development, prototyping, integration, testing, and performance assessment of radar frequency (RF) algorithms and models. Used across our products and new business initiatives, signal processing algorithms extract and exploit signals from both active and passive sensors to be used for calibration and de-noising of raw sensor data; detecting, acquiring, tracking, and classifying objects of interest;
and sensor fusion. This is an onsite position located in Tucson, AZ.
- You will act as a recognized signal processing subject matter expert, technical leader, and/or functional leader responsible for the budget, schedule, development, execution, and completion of complex program objectives.
- You will use and modify simulations for the design, development, prototyping, integration, testing, and performance assessment of RF algorithms and models.
- You will participate in production, engineering lab, field test environments to test, verify, and validate RF models and signal processing algorithm performance in accordance with requirements.
- You will collaborate in all development phases from program start-up to live-fire testing, making improvements to processes and providing signal processing expertise in design reviews, peer reviews, and technical briefings to internal and external customers.
- You will oversee a technical team, mentor engineers, and/or manage an engineering project.
- Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of relevant prior experience
- Signal processing experience in the RF domain
- Proficiency in the C++ programming language
- Experience with algorithm design, implementation, analysis, testing, and optimization
- Experience managing or leading others in a technical and/or functional capacity within an engineering environment
- Ability to obtain and maintain an Interim Secret U.S. government issued Security Clearance is required prior to start date with the ability to obtain special program access after start. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
- Experience with missile systems applications supporting customer programs
- Advanced Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or Applied Math
- Experience with version control tools such as Azure Dev Ops and Git
- Subject Matter Expertise in multiple RF algorithms such as adaptive processing, beamforming, angle estimation, synthetic aperture radar, waveform design, tracking, feature extraction, or classification / recognition
