Senior Systems Safety Engineer MIL-STD-882E

Location:

Tucson, AZ. This role is on‑site.

• Leading one or more MIL-STD-882E compliant system safety programs.
• Performing MIL-STD-882E System Safety Program tasks and analyses, or customer’s approved equivalent.
• Coordinating with customer safety representatives to gain safety approval from appropriate Safety Review Board authorities.
• Performing System Safety Program hazard analyses or design analyses.
• Briefing safety of the program at technical reviews as part of the safety approval process.
• Interpreting system requirements, customer specifications and military standards.
• Preparing internal and customer reports describing various analyses relevant to the System Safety program.
• Working across all integrated product teams and lines to properly eliminate hazards or provide effective controls.
• Collaborating with Program Management and government approval authorities from program startup through production to demilitarization and disposal backgrounds.
• Reliability, System Safety, and Supportability.

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) and at least 5 years of relevant Safety Engineering experience; an advanced degree may account for additional experience.
• Experience with System Safety Engineering with Software, Firmware, or Electrical Engineering.
• Experience in weapon combat systems (plus).
• Experience with DoD System Safety Programs (plus).
• Experience with Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS) and Proposal Development (plus).
