Following the acquisition of Arizona Mining, South
32 is the new owner of the Hermosa Project, a high-grade zinc, lead and silver development option in Arizona.

The location of this role is the Hermosa Project site near Patagonia, Arizona.

The Role

The Medium-Term Planning Engineer will report to the Technical Services Manager, manage a team of short-term planners, and be responsible for creating and communicating the rolling 12-month mine plan incorporating the goals and direction of the long-term plan and informing the short range plan. This position will also be involved in external communications with MSHA, the State Mine Inspector, and Contractors.

Accountabilities
:

• Creation and distribution of the medium-term mine plan including design and schedule.
• Communication with relevant stakeholders for input into the mine plan.
• Design improvements.
• Managing short range planners.
• Calculation of plan compliance.
• Management of the Deswik project construction.
• Monthly production reporting.
• Employee bonus calculations.

Qualifications, Skills, and Expertise:

• Bachelors Degree in Mining Engineering.
• Five plus years in underground mining.
• No less than two years of experience in underground mine planning.
• Longhole Open Stope and paste planning preferred.
• Experience managing professionals.
• Experience presenting to large groups as well as groups of managers and executives.
• Proficient in Deswik CAD, Sched, IS.
• Deswik SO and SOT preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Power Query, Power Pivot, and Power BI preferred.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Excellent communication skills across a wide range of stakeholders.
• Driven and self-motivated.
• Due Diligence and double-checking work.
