RTX is a defense company seeking an Ultra Production Chief Engineer to execute the production of a common Electronics Assembly (Ultra) that meets performance needs of multiple adopting programs. The Ultra CE will lead cost, schedule, performance, and risk management for a critical component across Raytheon programs. The Ultra Program product integrates radar exciter/receiver, signal processing, navigation, and flexible interfaces.
Location:
onsite in Tucson, AZ.
- Help define and drive production execution based on product vision, strategy, and goals to align with multiple Programs/Customers and facilitate conflict resolution.
- Ensure technical integrity and engineering execution across the IPT and other functions to meet/exceed cost, schedule, and technical requirements.
- Serve as the primary technical point of contact with the production team and communicate to senior leaders.
- Support capture of new business and influence technical/product roadmaps, reflected in program planning and execution.
- Plan and lead incremental break-in of upgrades and system improvements.
- Own and drive Configuration Control Board and Supplier Change Board processes.
- Drive positive change within the production environment as a key stakeholder in Failure Review Boards, FRACAS, and other continuous improvement efforts.
- Engage technically with major subcontractors and partners to ensure product deliverables.
- Direct a team of multi-disciplined engineers in support of production deliveries.
- Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
- Experience with system development and design, requirements development/management, verification, system integration and test, and production.
- Experience working on modular systems architectures and product lines.
- Experience as a technical leader who can develop work plans and drive execution.
- Experience leading engineering teams.
- Experience managing resources with multi-million-dollar annual budgets.
- Experience in strategic development, customer interface, or contract capture in the Defense Industry.
- Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
- RMD Level 4 Certified Chief Engineer
- Excellent communication, technical writing, oral presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Experience in leading and executing production of complex system architectures
- Demonstrated experience across the product lifecycle, including concept development, architecture, design, integration, verification, and production
- Proven ability to develop effective internal and external customer relationships to ensure customer satisfaction and continued business
- Direct experience with Engineering Risks and Opportunities (R&O) Management
- Master’s degree in engineering, physics, or related discipline
