Overview
Kimley-Horn's Tucson, Arizona (AZ) office is seeking a Civil Engineer to join their Water/Wastewater team! This is not a remote position.
Responsibilities- Support infrastructure planning, design and condition assessment projects with a strong emphasis on geospatial analysis and systems integration
- Investigate municipal infrastructure, develop master plans, and build GIS-based tools and workflows to enhance operational efficiency and data‑driven decision-making
- Conduct condition assessments of water, wastewater, and stormwater infrastructure using field data, GIS, and system records
- Develop and update infrastructure master plans, including hydrologic and hydraulic modeling and pump station evaluations
- Support design engineering tasks for water distribution systems, including layout, sizing, and hydraulic calculations
- Perform advanced spatial data analysis using GIS to support capital planning, infrastructure performance evaluations, and data analysis
- Utilize Microsoft Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps) to build and maintain automated processes and custom applications
- Manage and configure SharePoint sites for project collaboration and data management
- Apply programming and scripting (Python, R, SQL) to automate data processing and enhance analytical capabilities
- Prepare technical reports and visualizations to communicate findings and recommendations
- Master’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Engineering or related field of study
- Two (2) years of experience as a Waste/Wastewater Engineer-in-Training or related role where required experience gained
- Applying programming and scripting (Python, R) to automate data processing and enhance analytical capabilities
- Utilizing Microsoft Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps) to build and maintain automated processes and custom applications
- Performing advanced spatial data analysis using GIS to support capital planning, infrastructure performance evaluations, and data analysis
- Professional Engineering License (or ability to obtain one within 12 months)
