Production Support Electrical Engineer
Location: Tucson, AZ
Contract Type: Contract
Shift: 2nd Shift - 3pm to 12am
Rate: $96.91/hr
Description:
The EE team supports production to resolve issues and keep hardware builds moving forward. Responsibilities include quick assessment of problems, identifying necessary information, evaluating urgency relative to other issues, path development for troubleshooting and resolution, communication across cross‑functional teams, and driving updates and status throughout.
- Change documentation preparation and presentation
- Hardware troubleshooting
- Own and manage issue projects to completion
Able to solve problems quickly and correctly, communicate effectively across teams, and take ownership to see tasks to completion in a timely manner.
Required and Desired QualificationsCore Technical Skills (Non‑negotiables)
- Experience with digital, analog, RF, and/or mixed signal testing and/or debugging complex circuit card assemblies and/or electro‑mechanical systems
- Experience with lab equipment: oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, function generators, power supplies, etc.
- Ability to interpret schematics, PCB layouts, and Bo Ms
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Active/current DoD Secret Personal Clearance (PCL) and U.S. Citizenship
Desired Skills (Nice‑to‑Have)
- Experience supporting production engineering activities involving electrical or mechanical hardware
- Background in designing electronic or electro‑optical subsystems, including circuit design, assembly processes, and fabrication practices
- Familiarity with engineering and analysis tools across electrical design, simulation, and measurement domains
- Experience with subsystem integration, testing, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement methodologies
- Ability to work independently or within small teams while providing technical guidance, coordination, and project oversight
- Resolve production and supplier issues, including troubleshooting and coordinating corrective actions
- Maintain and update technical drawings and documentation, including preparing change packages for review boards
- Diagnose hardware failures using electronic test equipment and analysis tools
- Evaluate defect and yield data to drive process improvements and reduce recurring failures
- Collaborate with suppliers, create Statements of Work, and support general electrical engineering activities in production environments
- BSEE or equivalent and 5‑10 years experience
