This position is 100% onsite in Tucson, Arizona.
The position is for a Principal Electrical Engineer with at least 8 years of professional experience or 5 years of professional experience and an advanced STEM degree. The Test Equipment Directorate is a multi‑discipline organization responsible for developing test solutions for all Raytheon products. Engineers participate in all phases of the development lifecycle for test equipment, from design through factory production integration. Typical work involves designing interface assemblies, selecting and integrating with test instruments and environments, and developing test systems for Raytheon products. Engineers will contribute to the completion of all stages of test product development and will be responsible for maintaining technical, cost, and schedule aspects of their assigned projects.
WhatYou Will Do
- Design, develop, and integrate Raytheon products within TEE in multidiscipline engineering teams.
- Develop both engineering and production test systems, test interface adapters, cabling, technical drawings, schematics, circuit design, and analysis, including power analysis, RF chain analysis, and error budget analysis.
- Contribute to the completion of all stages of test product development and perform technical, cost, and schedule management of assigned projects.
- Act as part of the team or independently to uncover and resolve issues associated with the development and implementation of test products.
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) with a minimum of eight (8) years of relevant experience, OR an advanced degree with five (5) years of relevant experience.
- Experience with factory/laboratory test instrumentation (e.g., oscilloscopes, power supplies, digital multimeters, network analyzers).
- Ability to read drawings/schematics and troubleshoot hardware and test equipment instrumentation in Factory Test Platform solutions.
- Experience performing analog, digital, and/or RF designs at subsystem or system level.
- Proficiency with commonly used electrical engineering design and analysis tools, including Creo Schematic, Mentor Capital, Altium, and DX Designer.
- Basic or introductory knowledge of common software languages (C/C++/C#) sufficient to read and follow code for electronic engineers.
- Knowledge of computer hardware interfaces and data protocols such as TCP/IP, UDP, RS‑422, Ethernet, SPI, CAN, etc.
- Software experience controlling test instrumentation via LabVIEW, SCPI commands, or similar.
- Experience designing or integrating full engineering and production test systems (analog, digital, mixed‑signal, RF), test interface adapters, interconnect drawings, mixed‑signal cabling, and technical drawings.
Work with cross‑functional teams to coordinate electrical engineer design or integration tasking.
