About the Role
The Effector Analog and Power Department is responsible for the development—from concept to integration—of telemetry and flight termination products. Responsibilities include designing, analyzing, testing, simulating, and documenting power conversion circuitry (analog and digital) for board‑mounted applications, primarily focusing on non‑isolated and isolated switch‑mode power converters and linear converters. Engineers guide ECAD drafters, define layer stackups, and support circuit card development through all design phases.
Key Responsibilities- Design, analyze, simulate, test, and document power conversion (and related analog) circuitry.
- Architect circuit‑level power schemes and develop related requirements.
- Assist in layer stackup definition and ECAD layout/routing activities.
- Drive projects to meet schedule constraints and define task timelines.
- Guide ECAD drafters through PCB layout and routing for power circuitry.
- Bachelor’s degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) and a minimum of 5 years of related experience.
- Experience with non‑isolated converter topologies: buck, boost, buck‑boost.
- Proficiency with MATLAB, MathCAD, Mathematica, or similar tools.
- Experience with FETs/BJTs, op‑amps, filters, clock/data termination, or comparator circuits.
- U.S. citizenship and an active, transferable U.S. government‑issued security clearance (DoD Secret) are required.
- Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Robust design and analysis experience with analog/digital power converters such as flyback, half‑bridge, full‑bridge, forward, push‑pull.
- Familiarity with transformer and inductor design, stability analysis, and power architecture trades.
- Experience guiding ECAD personnel on PWB layout and technical drawing creation.
- Experience in program liaison roles, military specifications, and power system design beyond 400V and/or 10kW.
- Proficiency with circuit simulations (SIMPLIS, SABER, Mathcad) and CAD tools (Mentor Graphix, DxDesigner, Hyperlynx).
- Salary range: 86,800
USD – 165,200
USD. - Health, dental, vision, life insurance, short‑term and long‑term disability, 401(k) match.
- Flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, parental leave, paid time off, holidays.
- Annual short‑term and long‑term incentive compensation programs (subject to performance and business unit).
