Provide engineering support including planning, designing, overseeing fabrication, and fielding special fixtures and machinery for the testing of military weapon systems and equipment. The role incorporates state‑of‑the‑art technology, adheres to established design standards, and uses existing or develops new testing procedures and instrumentation systems. The incumbent may be assigned independent responsibility for a project, or serve as project engineer on a major, complex system that is part of a high‑visibility, high‑cost program.
Depending on experience, the engineer may lead a team of engineers and technicians on efforts involving transducers, calibrations, and new instrumentation systems. The engineer exercises technical direction over engineering, technical test support, and other supporting personnel in the actual conduct of tests in the field or under simulated conditions. Assignments are made, work is reviewed, and instructions are provided to personnel relating to their function.
The engineer may develop process improvements, including identifying, designing, developing, and implementing modifications or upgrades of existing facilities and equipment and their operating systems. Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) accredited college/university, or equivalent experience.
- Must have experience using Solid Works or other 3D CAD program.
- Must demonstrate effective communication in English on a professional level, both verbally and in writing.
- Must pass a pre‑employment drug screening and physical and periodic retests.
- Must be able to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for work tasks assigned.
- Must be capable of working in extreme weather conditions including summer temperatures peaking around 120° F.
- Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 50 pounds.
- Must meet the physical requirements necessary to perform operations outlined, performed, and stated in the SOPs.
- Must be able to work all shifts, weekends, holidays and overtime as needed, sometimes on short notice, to support test missions.
- Must possess a valid driver's license, without special restrictions.
- Must be able to work in a team setting, maintaining a professional relationship with all team members, as well as other coworkers, in and outside of immediate work area.
- Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Must have dependable transportation and a dependable means of communication.
- Must be able to speak, write, read, and understand English.
- Must have a well‑mannered customer service attitude.
- Must be willing to cross‑train in other areas.
- Must use “down‑time” effectively to the benefit of test, self, and company.
- Must be punctual, responsible, and dependable.

- Machining experience.
- Welding experience.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Must possess or be able to obtain a security clearance prior to employment and maintain it for the duration of employment.
