Position Overview
The Advanced Effector Guidance Systems (AEGS) Department at Raytheon Hardware Engineering is seeking an Electrical Subsystems Digital Principal Engineer. The role focuses on leading or supporting digital design, digital subsystem architecture, and initial integration efforts for development guidance systems.
Responsibilities- Lead or support digital design efforts for guidance system development.
- Enhance electrical engineering skills by working with digital and/or analog hardware, including troubleshooting complex circuit card assemblies or electro‑mechanical systems.
- Provide hands‑on troubleshooting and component‑level design support.
- Conduct design and test reviews.
- Collaborate with functional and program management, customers, and suppliers.
- Travel (~25%) as required.
- Participate in hardware systems lifecycle phases: design, analysis, architecture, documentation of subsystem requirements and test plans, peer reviews, presentations, and root‑cause failure investigations.
- Minimum eight years of relevant experience.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM).
- Experience in analog, digital, and power electronics design, integration, and production support.
- Decomposition of high‑level requirements into actionable design electronics and subsystem architecture.
- Subsystem architectural design experience.
- Experience in digital subsystems, systems engineering, requirement development & validation, CCA design, digital test integration, and/or digital supplier management on an effector‑based product.
- Proficiency with digital design tools for CCA schematic capture, interconnect capture, and harness design.
- Technical leadership during Engineering, Manufacturing, and Development (EMD) phase.
- Advanced degree in engineering, mathematics, physics or related fields.
- Systems engineering thought process with analytical skills.
- Background in designing and troubleshooting antennas, analog RF card, digital card, and configurable logic.
- Experience in project leadership, systems engineering and architecture.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with peers, suppliers, management, and customers.
- Experience in missiles or similar systems.
Position is 100% onsite in Tucson, Arizona. Relocation assistance is available. The role may require travel (up to 25%).
