Job Summary
Onsite engineering role in Tucson, AZ with a requirement for a U.S. citizenship and an active Secret-level DoD security clearance.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure flow down of product requirements to sub-tier suppliers through PO requirements, quality notes, and statements of work to guarantee supplier compliance.
- Perform on‑site Source Surveillance and Corrective Action reviews; participate in design reviews, program reviews, process change reviews, supplier reviews, qualification test reviews, and test equipment verification/validation to mitigate escape risk.
- Drive continuous product/process improvements by identifying supplier risk and systemic performance issues and implementing solutions via root‑cause corrective actions, Six Sigma, Lean, and other analytical tools.
- Facilitate closed‑loop process controls and continuous‑improvement methods to improve product/process quality, conduct supplier factory process walks, and perform factory risk assessments using APQP processes.
- Represent quality during review boards covering changes to supplier designs, process changes, qualification tests, and procedure reviews.
- Review internal TDP change requests, supplier change requests, and supplier statements of work; contribute to the development of KPIs and metrics for supplier quality performance.
- Travel domestically (up to 25%) as required for supplier assessments, audits, and reviews.
Manage a complex supplier base across electrical, mechanical, and energetic domains; expand APQP knowledge and engage with critical external stakeholders such as DCMA.
Required Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in STEM and 8 years of experience in quality engineering, manufacturing, or a related engineering discipline.
- Experience with aerospace or commercial equivalent preventive tools such as SPC, FMEA, QFD, PPAP.
- Experience conducting root‑cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
- Knowledge of standards including ISO 9001, AS9100, AS9145, or MDA Assurance Provisions.
- Experience interpreting schematic drawings and applying hardware inspection techniques.
- Active, transferable U.S. government‑issued security clearance; U.S. citizenship required.
- Six Sigma, Lean, or ASQ Certification (CQE, CQM‑OE, CSQE, CQA, CRE, etc.).
- Proven success in building and maintaining relationships with multiple suppliers/customers.
- Experience in DoD product and process oversight, including requirements, build, integration, test, and delivery.
- Strong engineering, development, project‑planning, and remote‑collaboration skills.
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001/AS9100 quality management systems, AS9145 requirements for APQP & PPAP, and FAI Standard AS9102.
- General knowledge of industry technical standards such as ANSI, CMMI, ASTM, etc.
- Excellent communication skills, presence, influence, and self‑management as a technical contributor.
- Salary range: 107,500
USD – 204,500
USD. - Sign‑on bonus up to 10,000
