Supplier Assurance Quality Engineer
Location:
Tucson, AZ (on‑site)
Employment:
Full‑time – Onsite U.S. Citizen or U.S. Person (requires active DoD Secret clearance).Security Clearance:
Active DoD Secret required after day
1.Sign‑on bonus up to $10,000 for eligible new hires with an active security clearance.
- Ensure flow down of product requirements internally and to sub‑tier suppliers through PO requirements, quality notes, and statement of works.
- Interpret program requirements so the supply base understands and complies with quality standards.
- Drive continuous product/process improvements by identifying supplier risk and systemic performance issues, and implement solutions using Root Cause Corrective Actions, statistical/analytical tools (Six Sigma, Lean, SPC, FMEA, QFD, PPAP, etc.).
- Apply APQP processes related to supplier performance and conduct necessary engagements to improve supplier manufacturing processes.
- Represent quality on review boards covering changes to supplier designs, process changes, qualification tests, and procedure reviews.
- Conduct supplier assessments, audits, and reviews; travel up to 25% as required.
- Engage with critical external stakeholders such as DCMA.
- Managing a complex supplier base across Electrical, Mechanical, Energetic, and other fields.
- Expanding APQP knowledge and experience.
- Engagement with critical external stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) and 5+ years experience in quality engineering, manufacturing, or related discipline.
- Experience conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
- Experience with ISO
9001, AS9100, AS9145, or MDA Assurance Provisions. - Experience interpreting schematic drawings and hardware inspection techniques.
- Strong knowledge of ISO
9001/AS9100 quality management systems, AS9145 (APQP & PPAP), and AS9102 (FAI). - Experience using SPC, FMEA, QFD, PPAP, Lean manufacturing, control plans, and other process improvement tools.
- Strong technical engineering background and excellent communication skills.
- U.S. citizenship required; active DoD Secret clearance required.
- Preferred:
Six Sigma, Lean, or ASQ certifications (CQE, CQM/OE, CSQE, CQA, CRE, etc.). - Proven success building and maintaining relationships with multiple suppliers and customers.
- DoD product and process oversight experience (requirements, build, integration, test, delivery).
- Experience in engineering, development, project planning, and remote collaboration.
- Knowledge of industry standards such as ANSI, CMMI, ASTM.
• Salary range: $86,800–$165,200 USD (good‑faith estimate).
• Sign‑on bonus up to $10,000 for eligible hires with an active security clearance.
