Position Overview
Senior Principal Project Engineer – Engineering Execution PM – Tucson, AZ. This onsite role reports to the Advanced Air Weapons Dominance Program Manager and works with program staff to drive execution and meet contractual and company requirements.
Responsibilities- Provide tactical direction of program execution and maintain program cadence to meet contract/company requirements and deliverables using approved business models and management tools.
- Directly oversee IPTLs and program support staff for day‑to‑day program execution.
- Contribute to developing and aligning common program vision, execution strategies, and plans so the Leadership Team communicates a unified voice.
- Partner with customers on program scope execution and issue resolution.
- Collaborate across all IPTs and CPTs, establishing working relationships with Contracts, Finance, Planning, Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, Digital Technologies, and Security teams.
- Identify and implement key program metrics and drive corrective actions.
- Support program risk and opportunity process in line with financial goals and obligations.
- Support customer program reviews and prepare for customer visits.
- Provide mentoring and guidance to all team members.
- Degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) and minimum 10 years of relevant experience.
- Program Management Certified Level 6 or equivalent, or ability to obtain within 12 months.
- Experience leading cross‑functional teams (Engineering, Contracts, Finance, Procurement/Supply Chain, Manufacturing/Operations, Quality Management, Logistics, Data Management, Security or administrative functions).
- Experience with financial analysis tools and project management tools/systems.
- Active and transferable U.S. government‑issued SECRET security clearance required prior to start date; U.S. citizenship required.
- Preferred:
Active Top Secret clearance, experience with budgets ≥ $20M, production/operations program execution managing staffing, assignments, resources. - Demonstrated ability to take initiative, manage multiple competing priorities, and communicate effectively.
