Summary
The Effector RF Design Team at Raytheon is hiring a Senior RF Engineer to serve as the Responsible Engineering Authority (REA) for the analysis, design, and evaluation of a critical RF subsystem in a missile product. The position is onsite in Tucson, AZ and requires U.S. citizenship and a DoD Secret clearance.
Responsibilities- Oversee the development and testing of a front‑end receiver and antenna.
- Serve as the REA, implementing and following all design, fabrication, and test processes for RF hardware.
- Create and ensure proper review of all documentation for the subsystem, including analyses, schematics, interface drawings, test plans, and specifications.
- Work in a lab to perform component characterization, subsystem calibration, verification, and integration.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (power, digital, mechanical, etc.) on related analyses or tests.
- Interface with project leadership to provide status updates on technical progress, cost, and schedule.
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM).
- Minimum of five years of relevant experience in RF design, fabrication, testing, or simulation.
- Experience with tools such as Mentor DX Designer, HFSS, System Vue/Genesys, or ADS.
- Strong understanding of RF concepts and principles.
- Experience in mentorship or apprenticeship roles.
- Technical oversight responsibilities for less‑senior engineers.
- Experience working across domains on complex projects.
- Ability to prepare documentation with minimal oversight.
- Background in designing for manufacturability, producibility, and cost constraints, including yield and margin analysis.
- Technical background in cascade analysis, frequency planning, radar principles, filter design, circuit card assembly, scripting (Matlab or Python).
- Experience with high‑speed data converter test/characterization and high‑power RF design or test.
U.S. citizenship is required. A DoD Secret clearance (or interim clearance that can be obtained) is required prior to the start date.
Salary Range86,800 USD – 165,200 USD (good faith estimate; varies with experience, education, and role).
