Position Overview
The Mechanical Analysis and Test (MA&T) Department of Raytheon seeks an early‑career Structural Engineer to perform detailed structural analyses and support qualification testing of life‑support systems and weapon systems at 1151 E Hermans Rd, Tucson, AZ. The role is onsite and requires a U.S. government issued security clearance (Secret or higher) and U.S. citizenship.
Responsibilities- Perform detailed structural analyses for programs from preliminary trade studies to production support.
- Generate test plans to validate analyses and verify hardware compliance with customer requirements.
- Analyze test data to validate models, generate mechanical loads and environments.
- Work with analysts on moderate‑complexity problems under cost and schedule constraints.
- Coordinate and lead technical peer reviews ensuring technical accuracy.
- Present results to internal stakeholders and external customers.
- Generate detailed, archival technical reports.
- Travel to test sites for test support or design discussions.
- Bachelor’s degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) or advanced degree with equivalent experience.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience; advanced degree may substitute for experience.
- Experience in structural analysis using PATRAN, NASTRAN, ANSYS, ABAQUS, or equivalent.
- Working knowledge of mechanical principles for classical structural problems.
- Solid modeling CAD experience (e.g., CREO).
- Experience with Matlab.
- Experience planning, organizing, and executing structural testing and data reduction.
- Strong communication skills and ability to present to external customers.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team and independently.
- U.S. citizenship and active, transferable government security clearance.
- Preferred: 5+ years of professional experience in stress/structural analysis.
- Preferred: ABET accreditation or related advanced degree.

Salary Range$68,900 – $131,100 USD, depending on experience.
