Overview
Raytheon invites applications for a Process Engineer II – Onsite – Tucson, AZ. This role focuses on improving manufacturing processes to maintain efficiency, reduce costs, enhance sustainability, safety and profitability. The engineer verifies shelf‑life material calls, writes processing procedures, integrates and documents factory equipment, and supports continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities- Verify TDP shelf‑life materials are correctly called out in MDPs and document equipment functionality.
- Write and update material processing procedures.
- Collaborate on integrating process equipment within the factory.
- Respond to production issues related to materials and processes; identify root causes and implement robust, cost‑effective solutions.
- Assist with on‑the‑job training for materials and processes.
- Participate actively in daily production meetings and collaborate with factory personnel.
- Notify Materials Management of potential obsolescence or supply chain interruptions.
- Work with Materials & Process Engineering (M&PE) to address problem buys and obsolete materials – identify end users, determine material requirements, find alternatives, and promote common materials.
- Implement Lean manufacturing techniques to reduce variability, eliminate constraints and sustain processes.
- Drive use of common materials based on allowable drawing requirements and process engineering tools.
- Create or edit manufacturing procedures as needed.
- Support process troubleshooting and coordinate root‑cause corrective action with M&PE labs.
- Bachelor’s Degree in STEM field and at least 2 years of relevant manufacturing experience.
- Preferred Bachelor’s or Master’s in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Manufacturing Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience with manufacturing processes and project execution.
- Experience with materials testing, lean manufacturing, and technical writing.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Hands‑on, self‑motivated learner who thrives in dynamic environments.
Shift: 2:00PM – 11:00PM (2nd Shift).

U.S. citizenship is required. An active, transferable DoD Secret clearance is required prior to start.
CompensationSalary range: $68,900 – $131,100 USD, based on experience, education, and qualifications.
