Position Overview
Manager, Quality Engineer – responsible for leading a small team of quality engineers, supporting manufacturing operations, and providing key metrics regarding factory performance.
Key Responsibilities- Lead, coach and mentor stakeholders in routine settings and difficult situations.
- Manage QA team, ensuring performance expectations and developing employees.
- Guide and support RTX Customer Oriented Results and Excellence (CORE) projects.
- Establish baseline factory metrics (scrap, rework, FPY), identify drivers, forecast demand, highlight improvement opportunities.
- Partner with manufacturing teams to align on priorities using data, drive containment, root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
- Conduct process walks, operator observations, and lead manufacturing team discussions to reduce variation and improve performance.
- Identify supplier escapes or issues and ensure containment and feedback to the Supplier Quality Management team.
- Verify and validate implemented improvements, assess effectiveness.
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) or related technical field plus eight (8) years of relevant engineering experience (or five (5) years with an advanced degree).
- Manufacturing experience in assembly, inspection, or test processes.
- Experience applying and adhering to commercial and aerospace/defense regulations and standards such as ISO 9001, AS9100, AS9102, AS9145.
- Experience in audits, interacting with customers, and quality management systems.
- Experience working in cross‑functional process improvement teams.
- Team or project management/leadership experience.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001, AS9100/AS9201, Six Sigma, CORE, Lean tools and ASQ certifications (preferred).
- Experience with DOE analysis, FMEA, root cause analysis, and corrective action.
- Strong communication, collaboration and persuasive skills.
- Ability to communicate complex engineering issues to all organizational levels.
- Experience with SAP/PRISM or other ERP systems.
- Experience with circuit card assembly processes (preferred).
- U.S. citizenship required and ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government‑issued security clearance.
DoD Secret clearance required. Ability to obtain and maintain an interim U.S. government‑issued security clearance prior to start date.

$107,500 - $204,500.
