DMC is currently looking for a Senior Project Engineer in Tucson, Arizona - USA who will be a Qualifying Party for the Arizona Contractor's License. The Project Engineer will ensure that engineering scope (drawings), specifications, bill of materials, quality control and general engineering coordination are available when required, to complete all aspects of the projects on time, to a high quality and within budget.

The Project Engineer is the gate keeper for change management and will be involved with change derived from engineering and in-field scope, working alongside the project services team. They will oversee and aid in Survey of an Underground Decline environment. They will ensure required Procurements are being completed on time and within budget to facilitate mining and construction activities. The Project Engineer will also be responsible for some reporting and other support functions as directed.

This includes a functional support role to the Canadian Engineering group and US construction /operations team on Projects as assigned. The Project Engineer will demonstrate DMC' s core values of:

Responsibilities:

* Support the construction/ operational team for surface and underground work. This includes oversight of the engineering design progression, coordination of the procurement of all items relating to scope, ensuring the items are on site when required and that the teams are aligned with any quality control required during the construction phase.

* Manage, schedule and be ultimately responsible for timely and accurate survey of surface infrastructure and underground Mine Development.

* Support the package lifecycle, in a cradle to grave arrangement, - review of drawings, through procurement and through final construction sign offs.

* Recommend design or method improvements in a continuous effort to improve safety and productivity via engineering interface meetings and in the reviewal of drawings.

* Work with design engineers in the corporate offices, ensuring all construction drawings are received on time and review these drawings by making any required changes.

* Ensure that adequate measures are put in place to remedy any defects or deficiencies in engineering design, fabrication or construction execution.

* Maintain at site a complete set of standards, specifications, and drawings to ensure designs and works are completed in line with industry and Project specific standards/ regulations.

* Develop work packages to enable scope clarification and coordinate with procurement to support the tender-award process. Scope of work generation and compiling of procurement packages (drawings, specifications, etc).

* Ensuring packages are managed in a way to ensure the completion of high-quality works, that meet the Project's budget and schedule. This includes vendor/ contractor interface management.

* Provide schedule updates and ensure packages are on time.

* Work closely with the Project Manager / Project Superintendent to ensure all requirements to execute the work are available and supported in a timely manner.

* Coordinate multi-discipline efforts for timely preparation, evaluation, and recommendation of sub-contract packages, including direct responsibility for preparation of Scope of Work and other Tender Schedules.

* Oversee change management and provide breakdowns of commercial financial changes, for approval by management.

* Provide support in writing risk assessments and method statements (RAMS) and the coordination with operational/ construction team on safe and high-quality methodologies.

* Provide support during construction/ operations with technical issues and involvement of developing efficient and safe working procedures.

* Provide support during quality and commissioning phases of the package.

* Active role in safety management on site.

* Provide input for weekly and monthly reports (as required).

* Assist in the mentoring of junior team members.

* Other related duties as may be assigned.

Qualifications:

* Professional Engineer (PE) License.

* Ability to perform as Qualifying Party for the Arizona Contractor's License.

* Bachelor's or master's degree in engineering (or similar/ relevant experience).

* 10+ years of experience working in the mining construction industry.

* MSHA CFR 30 Part 48 Underground experienced miner qualified.
