Ninyo & Moore, a SOCOTEC Company has an opening for a Senior or Principal Geotechnical Engineer in Tucson, Arizona. The successful candidate will assist in marketing/business development including but not limited to, preparation of geotechnical proposals including scope of services and proposed fees, assisting in compilation of RFQ/RFP documentation and responding to technical questions for various solicitations during pre-bidding and bidding phases of projects.
The candidate will prepare and manage/oversee geotechnical projects and be responsible for preparation of geotechnical evaluation reports; will attend project meetings with the project stakeholders on an as-needed basis, maintain client relationships, and work directly with the clients to assure the successful project completion. The candidate will also mentor junior staff; provide leadership, provide ongoing training to engineering staff; provide direction and review of engineering work products prepared by others, will keep himself/herself up-to-date with latest geotechnical survey/measurement/analyses techniques, instrumentation, industry standards or guidelines;
review and sign geotechnical proposals and reports on behalf of the company.
Education:
PE license and M.S. in Civil Engineering with geotechnical emphasis required.
Required Skills:
The successful candidate should be a licensed professional engineer in Arizona with 10 years or more of experience in the geotechnical industry performing duties described above. A well-rounded background in geotechnical engineering, strong work ethic, excellent interpersonal and leadership skills, and a track record of successful client relationships and service are required. Candidate should have a thorough understanding and knowledge of geotechnical engineering.
The ideal candidate will have work experience with construction and earthwork activities. Geophysical survey experience will be an additional asset. Candidate should have excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, ability to work and meet deadlines under time pressure, have positive attitude, and excellent problem solving skills.
