Bike Shop Principal Mechanical Engineer

Location:

6880 S Tucson Blvd, Tucson, AZ 85701. Position:
Principal Mechanical Engineer (Onsite). Requirement: U.S. Citizenship with Secret DoD security clearance required on day 1.

• Involve with the product lifecycle from concept development to test.
• Work in a vertically integrated environment across many disciplines.
• Rapid reaction prototyping and hands‑on involvement with hardware.
• Mentor junior engineers.
• Lead and manage projects of varying scope and duration.
• Delegate and assign tasks to engineering team members based on project priorities, skill sets, and workload capacity.

• Minimum 8 years of mechanical engineering experience, including design, fabrication and testing.
• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM).
• Proficiency with Pro/E, CREO, Solid Works, NX, Fusion
  360 or equivalent CAD software.
• Experience with Product Data Management systems such as Windchill, Teamcenter, or Solid Works PDM.
• Experience taking a design from concept through design, fabrication and testing.

• Master’s or Ph.D. in a STEM field.
• Technical mentoring or program management experience, including schedule and resource milestone management.
• Proficiency with CAE software (ANSYS, COMSOL, ABAQUS, Nastran, etc.).
• MATLAB experience.
• Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and design for manufacture.
• Experience with mills, lathes, sheet metal, welding and 3D printing.
• Cross‑discipline engineering knowledge.
• Experience in detailed design to verification and integration testing.
• Experience with intellectual property creation (patents, publications).
• Knowledge of energetic materials and associated safety.
• Experience overseeing program transition from development to production.
• Working knowledge of Earned Value Management System (EVMS).
• Ability to develop and manage cost, schedule and technical plans, including risk and opportunity management.

• Competitive salary range: $107,500 – $204,500 USD.
