Position: Mechanical Designer/Drafter II – Onsite (Tucson, AZ)

Location

Tucson, Arizona – 100% onsite. Address: US‑AZ‑TUCSON‑M10 ~ 3360 E Hemisphere Loop, BLDG M10.

Security Clearance

U.S. citizenship required. Requirements:
Active and transferable DoD Secret clearance (interim clearance required prior to start). Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance is mandatory.

What You Will Do
  • Create dimensioned detail drawings consistent with industry and Raytheon Engineering Document Standards.
  • Ensure drawings are accurate, complete, and dimensioned to support program requirements and tolerance build‑up analysis.
  • Update detail drawings throughout review cycles and implement changes per engineering input.
  • Adhere to company modeling best practices and TE One Page processes.
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally, building relationships with downstream reviewers and releasers.
  • Use recommended software methods promoting consistency, ease of revision, and reduced model/drawing complexity.
Qualifications
  • University degree (or equivalent experience) in mechanical engineering or related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ technical experience in mechanical design and/or production support.
  • Proficiency with CAD solid modeling tools (ProE/CREO Parametric) and analysis tools.
  • Experience with geometric dimensioning and tolerance (GD&T) analysis.
  • Experience creating complete mechanical and design drawing packages.
  • Knowledge of configuration management processes and tools (e.g., Windchill/cPDM) is a plus.
  • Experience with cable design (CREO Schematic), mechanical sub‑systems packaging, materials, thermal or structural analysis, control systems, electrical hardware design, or large assembly development.
  • Familiarity with environmental stress screening (vibration, shock, thermal).
  • Previous internship or co‑op experience is desired.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance prior to start.
  • U.S. citizenship required.
