Location & Security Clearance

Location: Tucson, AZ – onsite.
Security Clearance: Secret‑level clearance is required before the start date. U.S. citizenship is required; only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

What You Will Do
  • Lead material and process development, characterization, and system‑level integration to support all Raytheon product lines and new business.
  • Predict material performance and conduct measurement tests of developmental and production systems.
  • Perform material measurements of constitutive and RF attenuation properties and generate predicted performance using Computational Electromagnetic Codes.
  • Work in integrated product teams to incorporate advanced signature‑control techniques into deliverable products and aid in system performance assessment.
  • Formulate and develop new materials; develop fabrication processes; support composites operations.
  • Test and characterize materials (RF, mechanical, physical).
  • Prepare engineering documentation.
  • Interface with customers and suppliers; lead program reviews.
  • Manage projects and mentor early‑career engineers.
  • Own tasks with strong leadership as Materials Lead on Integrated Product Teams.
Qualifications
  • Required:

    Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field and a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree and at least 5 years of experience.
  • Experience in Low Observables or radar materials.
  • Experience in material characterization, performance testing, prediction, or design, and in material down‑selection and integration onto air vehicles.
  • Customer and supplier collaboration experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in a STEM field.
  • High‑temperature LO material characterization, testing, and integration experience.
  • Proficiency in intrinsic property analytical techniques for electromagnetic material characterization.
  • Experience with thermal analysis techniques (DMA, TMA, TGA, DSC) and material properties.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, suppliers, and customers.
  • Project planning, prioritizing, and execution skills.
  • Proposal writing and Basis of Estimate (BOE) development experience.
  • Programming proficiency in Python, C++, MATLAB, etc.
  • Experience with infrared signature analysis and control.
  • Current active U.S. Government DoD Top Secret clearance and ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access.
