Test Engineer, Systems Engineer
Environmental Test (ET) is an engineering organization that supports all programs across Raytheon. The ET organization provides testing capability for every phase of the product life cycle from prototype to production. Environmental Test is seeking a Principal Support Engineer in the field of environmental testing for second shift. The Support Engineer is responsible for executing a variety of environmental tests while collaborating in an integrated product (IP) team environment with Test Engineers, other Support Engineers, and internal engineering customers.
WhatYou Will Do
- Setup and operate mechanical shock test and electrodynamic vibration test systems
- Setup and operate climatic environmental chambers for temperature, altitude, and humidity testing, as well as highly accelerated life tests
- Setup and program all control and data acquisition systems and place and operate instrumentation, signal conditioning, and data acquisition systems
- Execute various vibration test methods as defined in Mil-Std-810, including random, sine, shock, sine‑on‑random, random‑on‑random, and drop shock
- Collect and verify thermal, vibration, and shock test data for accuracy
- Troubleshoot and adjust test equipment and setup when technical issues arise
- Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
- At least 2 years of experience working with environmental test vibration shaker systems or instrumentation (accelerometers, thermocouples, strain gages, load cells, etc.) and data acquisition systems (e.g., Dewetron, Dewe Soft, Lab View, Agilent/Keysight, Benchlink, Somat)
- Valid U.S. citizenship and active DoD Secret clearance (or pending/interim clearance)
- Strong problem‑solving skills
- Strong communication skills (written, verbal, listening)
- High situational awareness and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Current DoD Secret or TS/SSBI clearance
- Competitive salary range: $86,800 – $165,200 USD
