Senior Subsystem Engineer – Advanced Effector Guidance Systems, located at 9020 S Rita Rd, Tucson, AZ. Role is onsite, requiring U.S. citizenship and active and transferable DoD Secret Security Clearance.
What You Will Do- Integrate and validate guidance electronics during the development phase of the program.
- Test hardware, assess performance, resolve failures, and conduct analysis and modeling.
- Collaborate with the detail design team to influence design iterations.
- Interface with missile-level integration engineers for hardware handoff and support.
- Develop subsystem requirements, design and test plans, and perform peer reviews as a subject‑matter expert.
- Present technical results to peers, management, and government customers.
- Investigate root‑cause failures and recommend corrective actions.
- Support multiple programs and travel to labs and occasional field sites as needed.
- Work independently with minimal supervision within a multi‑disciplined team.
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM).
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in electrical hardware development and/or testing.
- Experience with subsystems, systems engineering requirement development and/or validation.
- Ability to obtain and maintain an active, transferable US government‑issued DoD Secret Security Clearance.
- U.S. citizenship required.
- Experience designing, testing and troubleshooting missile guidance electronics subsystems (antennas, RF cards, digital cards, configurable logic).
- Background in detailed design, testing, and troubleshooting of RF applications.
- Experience in systems engineering, architecture, and desire to grow into an Engineering Fellow.
- Knowledge of mixed‑signal electronics, DOD hardware development process and design gates.
- Experience in all phases of the product development lifecycle and proposal development.
- Experience with Model Based System Engineering (MBSE).
- Salary range: 86,800 USD – 165,200 USD (based on experience).
