Role:
Sr. Principal Avionics Lead in the Advanced Effector Guidance Systems (AEGS) Department, responsible for electrical systems engineering across products.
- Execute technical, cost, and schedule responsibilities for electronics systems.
- Ensure technical integrity of electronics, including development of Technical Data Package (TDP) and integration with Test Equipment (TE).
- Manage costs, schedule, and technical risk for design, verification, and hardware procurement.
- Provide technical oversight of failure investigations and root‑cause analysis.
- Guide a cross‑functional team through all phases of the hardware systems lifecycle—design, analysis, requirement development, testing, and production transition.
- Conduct peer reviews, present to management and government customers, and collaborate with Functional and Program management.
- Work with customers and suppliers and may require occasional travel.
- Bachelor’s degree in STEM; 10+ years of relevant experience.
- Experience in subassembly design, integration, and production support; analog, digital, and power electronics design.
- Capability to deconvolve high‑level requirements into actionable subsystem architectures.
- Background in electrical subsystems, systems engineering, requirement development and validation, CCA design, test integration, and supplier management for effector‑based products.
- Prior technical leadership on complex subsystems during Engineering, Manufacturing, and Development (EMD) phases.
- Advanced degree in mathematics, physics, or related engineering disciplines is valued.
- Strong systems engineering thinking, analytical skills, and ability to perform multidisciplinary work.
- Experience leading large, complex trade studies and integrating conceptual designs into system‑of‑systems.
- Background in mixed‑signal electronics, Earned Value Management (EVM), and risk/opportunity management.
- Experience working with missiles or similar systems.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and ability to influence across departments.
- Salary range: $132,400 – $251,600 USD.
