Senior Test Engineer – Environmental Test
Location:
Tucson, AZ. This onsite role requires a U.S. citizen with a transferable Secret‑level DoD security clearance.
- Consult and provide testing guidance to internal program customers and verify their proposed testing will meet the intended requirements.
- Write test plans and procedures that meet the requirements and safety of testing requested by internal program customers and review plans and procedures written by others.
- Create schedules and budgets for all testing.
- Oversee and personally conduct environmental testing to validate models for new product qualification, production acceptance, flight test clearance, engineering evaluations, and failure investigations.
- Implement engineering best practices to ensure testing is performed accurately, on schedule, and within the allowed budget.
- Analyze test data in real time and after test to validate that requirements have been met.
- Communicate the status of ongoing testing efforts with ET leadership and internal program customers.
- Design, model, and analyze vibration and structural test fixtures using CREO Parametric and Ansys Workbench.
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience.
- Minimum of two (2) years of technical writing experience in test planning, analysis, or reporting.
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience working with environmental test vibration shaker systems or instrumentation (accelerometers, thermocouples, strain gages, load cells, etc.) and data acquisition systems (Dewetron, Dewe Soft, Lab View, Agilent/Keysight, Benchlink, Somat, etc.).
- Relocation assistance available for qualifying candidates.
- Salary range: $86,800 – $165,200 USD.
