Position Overview
Tomahawk Production & Recertification Engineering Hardware Management Team (HMT) Deputy Lead – Tucson, Arizona. This leadership role focuses on developing, maintaining, and executing the engineering strategy to support the timely delivery of Tomahawk missiles to the U.S. Navy. U.S. citizenship and a U.S. government‑issued Secret security clearance are required. Salary range USD 132,400 – 251,600.
Responsibilities- Develop engineering execution strategies required to meet program contractual requirements.
- Collaborate with Tomahawk PMO and functional organizations on program execution.
- Work with the Engineering HMT Lead in task planning and execution, including financial planning and status reporting for all Tomahawk contracts.
- Lead engineering teams in supplier execution and address supplier challenges.
- Coordinate with Tomahawk Factory Engineering HMTs to meet delivery commitments from each factory.
- Plan and transition new Tomahawk configurations into production.
- Plan and execute Tomahawk Test Equipment sustainment and growth to support increased capacity.
- Coordinate reviews of required Tomahawk technical data package updates (e.g., change notices and variances).
- Monitor and manage upcoming tasks, assigning resources and using MS Project.
- Collaborate actively in weekly meetings to provide status and communicate needs.
- Communicate weekly with customer counterparts to coordinate missile builds and test events.
- Lead a team of fifty‑five to eighty‑five engineers across engineering functions to support missile builds, test support, and data analysis.
- Prepare bids and other work to support flight and field test events.
- Travel domestically, and possibly internationally, as required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and at least ten (10) years of relevant experience.
- Technical leadership experience.
- Experience managing cost and schedule using Earned Value Management Systems.
- Ability to collaborate across functional organizations to achieve results.
- Experience working with program management to develop and execute program strategies.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams to solve complex problems.
- Experience collaborating with supplier management, operations, and quality.
- Experience managing and presenting technical data to stakeholders and the customer community.
- Capture/pursuit experience, including contribution or authoring of white papers, RFI responses, proposal technical volumes or related experience.
- Test equipment experience and collaboration across multiple engineering disciplines (electrical, electronics, mechanical, software, computer engineering).
