The Guidance Electronics Team provides Electrical Systems Engineering for the Raytheon Missiles and Defense portfolio. The team develops missile Guidance Electronics hardware, focusing on architecture, analysis, requirements, integration, and test. Core technologies include RF/RADAR, Navigation/IMU/GPS, Digital, and Power.
Responsibilities- Provide GPS electronics solutions for missile products, including architecture development, requirement definition, electronics design, analysis, modeling, and testing.
- Collaborate with missile‑level system engineers to develop subsystem requirements.
- Perform analysis and modeling to decompose requirements for GPS sub‑assemblies and component designs.
- Analyze hardware designs, subsystems, and components; architect new electronic systems; develop and document subsystem requirements and test plans.
- Conduct peer reviews as a subject‑matter expert; deliver presentations to peers, management, and government customers.
- Investigate root‑cause failures and recommend corrective actions.
- Interface directly with suppliers of navigation or guidance electronics components, IMUs, and GPSs to monitor programmatic activities and ensure compliance with requirements.
- Mentor teammates and serve as a mentee; support multiple programs with occasional travel, including foreign travel.
- Work independently with minimal supervision within a multi‑disciplined team.
- Leverage a professional network to obtain help and collaborate with functional and program leadership, as well as customer and supplier stakeholders.
- Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of relevant engineering experience.
- Experience with electrical hardware development and subsystem, systems engineering, requirement development, and RF electrical subsystem design or validation.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. DOD Secret clearance before start date.
- Preferred experience with missile radar and RF seeker subsystems, including antennas, analog RF circuit cards, digital circuit cards, and configurable logic.
- Experience in systems engineering and architecture; desire to grow into a guidance section architect.
- Demonstrated understanding of technical theories and concepts in navigation subsystems/components used in modern guidance electronics platforms.
- Recent technical experience with integrated Guidance Electronics systems that blend GPS and IMU navigation subsystems via Kalman filter techniques.
- Knowledge of or experience with M‑Code.
- Familiarity with MATLAB scripting and tools.
- Experience with hardware integration, Hardware in the Loop (HIL), modeling and simulation, environmental testing, and extensive use of electronics test equipment.
- Experience working with missiles or similar systems.
- Ability to lead cross‑functional teams and drive suppliers to meet commitments.
- Knowledge of DOD hardware development processes, including design gates.
- Practical experience in all phases of the product development lifecycle.
- Experience in developing proposals.
- Knowledge of or experience with Model Based System Engineering (MBSE).
- Competitive salary range: $107,500 – $204,500 per year.
