Job Description:

  • We are seeking an experienced Electrical Prototyping Inspection Technician to support engineering teams in developing and validating prototype electrical hardware.

  • This role involves testing, inspection, troubleshooting, and ensuring compliance with customer requirements and industry standards throughout the product lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Test and inspect complex prototype electrical assemblies for quality and workmanship standards.

  • Interpret electrical/mechanical drawings, schematics, 3D models, and specifications.

  • Perform troubleshooting and validation of new hardware designs.

  • Identify defects, document discrepancies, and communicate findings to engineering teams.

  • Support design reviews and provide feedback for producibility and reliability.

  • Ensure compliance with safety, maintainability, and performance standards.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve product designs.

  • Perform additional duties as required.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Minimum 8+ years of experience inspecting electrical assemblies in an engineering environment

  • Experience with at least three of the following:

  • Wire harnesses / cables
  • Breakout boxes
  • Chassis
  • Circuit card modifications
  • Racked electronic systems
    • Strong ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience with inspection tools: CMM, calipers, micrometers, optical comparators.

    • Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).

    • Experience with First Article Inspection (FAI), Root Cause Analysis, DCMA audits.

    • Certifications:

      IPC 610, IPC 620, J-STD-001 (Soldering).

    • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Adobe (including 3D PDFs).

    • Strong communication and documentation skills.

    • Associate degree, military electronics training, or technical certification preferred.
